Quran verses About The Distribution of the Books of Deeds in the Hereafter
The deeds of human beings in this world are recorded by the noble angels (the noble recorders)
Quran Soura 82 Aya 10-12 :
وَإِنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ لَحَافِظِينَ
And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers,
كِرَامًا كَاتِبِينَ
Noble and recording;
يَعْلَمُونَ مَا تَفْعَلُونَ
They know whatever you do.
Quran Soura 50 Aya 18 :
مَّا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ
Man does not utter any word except that with him is an observer prepared [to record].
Quran Soura 17 Aya 13-14 :
وَكُلَّ إِنسَانٍ أَلْزَمْنَاهُ طَائِرَهُ فِي عُنُقِهِ ۖ وَنُخْرِجُ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ كِتَابًا يَلْقَاهُ مَنشُورًا
And [for] every person We have imposed his fate upon his neck, and We will produce for him on the Day of Resurrection a record which he will encounter spread open.
اقْرَأْ كِتَابَكَ كَفَىٰ بِنَفْسِكَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكَ حَسِيبًا
[It will be said], ’ Read your record. Sufficient is yourself against you this Day as accountant.’
Quran Soura 43 Aya 80 :
أَمْ يَحْسَبُونَ أَنَّا لَا نَسْمَعُ سِرَّهُمْ وَنَجْوَاهُم ۚ بَلَىٰ وَرُسُلُنَا لَدَيْهِمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
Or do they think that We hear not their secrets and their private conversations? Yes, [We do], and Our messengers are with them recording.
On the Day of Judgment, the records will be scattered, and everyone will receive the record of their deeds
Quran Soura 17 Aya 71-72 :
يَوْمَ نَدْعُو كُلَّ أُنَاسٍ بِإِمَامِهِمْ ۖ فَمَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَأُولَٰئِكَ يَقْرَءُونَ كِتَابَهُمْ وَلَا يُظْلَمُونَ فَتِيلًا
[Mention, O Muhammad], the Day We will call forth every people with their record [of deeds]. Then whoever is given his record in his right hand - those will read their records, and injustice will not be done to them, [even] as much as a thread [inside the date seed].
وَمَن كَانَ فِي هَٰذِهِ أَعْمَىٰ فَهُوَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ أَعْمَىٰ وَأَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا
And whoever is blind in this [life] will be blind in the Hereafter and more astray in way.
Quran Soura 18 Aya 49 :
وَوُضِعَ الْكِتَابُ فَتَرَى الْمُجْرِمِينَ مُشْفِقِينَ مِمَّا فِيهِ وَيَقُولُونَ يَا وَيْلَتَنَا مَالِ هَٰذَا الْكِتَابِ لَا يُغَادِرُ صَغِيرَةً وَلَا كَبِيرَةً إِلَّا أَحْصَاهَا ۚ وَوَجَدُوا مَا عَمِلُوا حَاضِرًا ۗ وَلَا يَظْلِمُ رَبُّكَ أَحَدًا
And the record [of deeds] will be placed [open], and you will see the criminals fearful of that within it, and they will say, ’ Oh, woe to us! What is this book that leaves nothing small or great except that it has enumerated it?’ And they will find what they did present [before them]. And your Lord does injustice to no one.
Quran Soura 84 Aya 7-12 :
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ
Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand,
فَسَوْفَ يُحَاسَبُ حِسَابًا يَسِيرًا
He will be judged with an easy account
وَيَنقَلِبُ إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِ مَسْرُورًا
And return to his people in happiness.
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ وَرَاءَ ظَهْرِهِ
But as for he who is given his record behind his back,
فَسَوْفَ يَدْعُو ثُبُورًا
He will cry out for destruction
وَيَصْلَىٰ سَعِيرًا
And [enter to] burn in a Blaze.
Quran Soura 69 Aya 19-29 :
فَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِيَمِينِهِ فَيَقُولُ هَاؤُمُ اقْرَءُوا كِتَابِيَهْ
So as for he who is given his record in his right hand, he will say, ’ Here, read my record!
إِنِّي ظَنَنتُ أَنِّي مُلَاقٍ حِسَابِيَهْ
Indeed, I was certain that I would be meeting my account.’
فَهُوَ فِي عِيشَةٍ رَّاضِيَةٍ
So he will be in a pleasant life -
فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ
In an elevated garden,
قُطُوفُهَا دَانِيَةٌ
Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near.
كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا أَسْلَفْتُمْ فِي الْأَيَّامِ الْخَالِيَةِ
[They will be told], ’ Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past.’
وَأَمَّا مَنْ أُوتِيَ كِتَابَهُ بِشِمَالِهِ فَيَقُولُ يَا لَيْتَنِي لَمْ أُوتَ كِتَابِيَهْ
But as for he who is given his record in his left hand, he will say, ’ Oh, I wish I had not been given my record
وَلَمْ أَدْرِ مَا حِسَابِيَهْ
And had not known what is my account.
يَا لَيْتَهَا كَانَتِ الْقَاضِيَةَ
I wish my death had been the decisive one.
مَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنِّي مَالِيَهْ ۜ
My wealth has not availed me.
هَلَكَ عَنِّي سُلْطَانِيَهْ
Gone from me is my authority.’
Quran Soura 45 Aya 28-29 :
وَتَرَىٰ كُلَّ أُمَّةٍ جَاثِيَةً ۚ كُلُّ أُمَّةٍ تُدْعَىٰ إِلَىٰ كِتَابِهَا الْيَوْمَ تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
And you will see every nation kneeling [from fear]. Every nation will be called to its record [and told], ’ Today you will be recompensed for what you used to do.
هَٰذَا كِتَابُنَا يَنطِقُ عَلَيْكُم بِالْحَقِّ ۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا نَسْتَنسِخُ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
This, Our record, speaks about you in truth. Indeed, We were having transcribed whatever you used to do.’
