Verses from the Book of Allah on Criminality Arranged in the order of the descent of the fence and accompanied by a simple interpretation, as well as with the possibility of listening to it
68-Surah Al-Qalam ( The Pen ) 35
74-Surah Al-Muddaththir ( The One Enveloped ) 39-48
And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it],
وَكُنَّا نَخُوضُ مَعَ الْخَائِضِينَ
So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors.
فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمْ شَفَاعَةُ الشَّافِعِينَ
77-Surah Al-Mursalat ( Those sent forth ) 16-18
77-Surah Al-Mursalat ( Those sent forth ) 45-46
[O disbelievers], eat and enjoy yourselves a little; indeed, you are criminals.
كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ
54-Surah Al-Qamar ( The Moon ) 47-48
The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], ‘ Taste the touch of Saqar.’
يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ
7-Surah Al-A’raf (The Heights ) 40-41
Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel enters into the eye of a needle. And thus do We recompense the criminals.
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا وَاسْتَكْبَرُوا عَنْهَا لَا تُفَتَّحُ لَهُمْ أَبْوَابُ السَّمَاءِ وَلَا يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ حَتَّىٰ يَلِجَ الْجَمَلُ فِي سَمِّ الْخِيَاطِ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُجْرِمِينَ
They will have from Hell a bed and over them coverings [of fire]. And thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.
لَهُم مِّن جَهَنَّمَ مِهَادٌ وَمِن فَوْقِهِمْ غَوَاشٍ ۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الظَّالِمِينَ
7-Surah Al-A’raf (The Heights ) 80-84
And [We had sent] Lot when he said to his people, ‘ Do you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds?
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّنَ الْعَالَمِينَ
Indeed, you approach men with desire, instead of women. Rather, you are a transgressing people.’
إِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ الرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةً مِّن دُونِ النِّسَاءِ ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ
But the answer of his people was only that they said, ‘ Evict them from your city! Indeed, they are men who keep themselves pure.’
وَمَا كَانَ جَوَابَ قَوْمِهِ إِلَّا أَن قَالُوا أَخْرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرْيَتِكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ أُنَاسٌ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ
So We saved him and his family, except for his wife; she was of those who remained [with the evildoers].
فَأَنجَيْنَاهُ وَأَهْلَهُ إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ كَانَتْ مِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones]. Then see how was the end of the criminals.
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًا ۖ فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
7-Surah Al-A’raf (The Heights ) 133
So We sent upon them the flood and locusts and lice and frogs and blood as distinct signs, but they were arrogant and were a criminal people.
فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الطُّوفَانَ وَالْجَرَادَ وَالْقُمَّلَ وَالضَّفَادِعَ وَالدَّمَ آيَاتٍ مُّفَصَّلَاتٍ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ
36-Surah Ya-seen 59-60
[Then He will say], ‘ But stand apart today, you criminals.
وَامْتَازُوا الْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ
Did I not enjoin upon you, O children of Adam, that you not worship Satan - [for] indeed, he is to you a clear enemy -
۞ أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَا بَنِي آدَمَ أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوا الشَّيْطَانَ ۖ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ
19-Surah Maryam ( Mary ) 86
20-Surah Taha 21
[Allah] said, ‘ Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition.
قَالَ خُذْهَا وَلَا تَخَفْ ۖ سَنُعِيدُهَا سِيرَتَهَا الْأُولَىٰ
20-Surah Taha 31
20-Surah Taha 74
Indeed, whoever comes to his Lord as a criminal - indeed, for him is Hell; he will neither die therein nor live.
إِنَّهُ مَن يَأْتِ رَبَّهُ مُجْرِمًا فَإِنَّ لَهُ جَهَنَّمَ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَىٰ
20-Surah Taha 102-103
The Day the Horn will be blown. And We will gather the criminals, that Day, blue-eyed.
يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ ۚ وَنَحْشُرُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ يَوْمَئِذٍ زُرْقًا
They will murmur among themselves, ‘ You remained not but ten [days in the world].’
يَتَخَافَتُونَ بَيْنَهُمْ إِن لَّبِثْتُمْ إِلَّا عَشْرًا
26-Surah Ash-Shuara ( The Poets ) 94-99
So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators
فَكُبْكِبُوا فِيهَا هُمْ وَالْغَاوُونَ
26-Surah Ash-Shuara ( The Poets ) 200-201
Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals.
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَاهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment.
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ
27-Surah An-Naml (The Ants ) 67-70
And those who disbelieve say, ‘ When we have become dust as well as our forefathers, will we indeed be brought out [of the graves]?
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَإِذَا كُنَّا تُرَابًا وَآبَاؤُنَا أَئِنَّا لَمُخْرَجُونَ
We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before. This is not but legends of the former peoples.’
لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا هَٰذَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا مِن قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
Say, [O Muhammad], ‘ Travel through the land and observe how was the end of the criminals.’
قُلْ سِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
And grieve not over them or be in distress from what they conspire.
وَلَا تَحْزَنْ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا تَكُن فِي ضَيْقٍ مِّمَّا يَمْكُرُونَ
28-Surah Al-Qasas ( The Stories ) 17
He said, ‘ My Lord, for the favor You bestowed upon me, I will never be an assistant to the criminals.’
قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَا أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنْ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرًا لِّلْمُجْرِمِينَ
28-Surah Al-Qasas ( The Stories ) 78
He said, ‘ I was only given it because of knowledge I have.’ Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation [of wealth]? But the criminals, about their sins, will not be asked.
قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَىٰ عِلْمٍ عِندِي ۚ أَوَلَمْ يَعْلَمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَهْلَكَ مِن قَبْلِهِ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مَنْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ قُوَّةً وَأَكْثَرُ جَمْعًا ۚ وَلَا يُسْأَلُ عَن ذُنُوبِهِمُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ
10-Surah Yunus ( Jonah ) 13
And We had already destroyed generations before you when they wronged, and their messengers had come to them with clear proofs, but they were not to believe. Thus do We recompense the criminal people
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَا الْقُرُونَ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ لَمَّا ظَلَمُوا ۙ وَجَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ وَمَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
10-Surah Yunus ( Jonah ) 17
So who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allah or denies His signs? Indeed, the criminals will not succeed
فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنِ افْتَرَىٰ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا أَوْ كَذَّبَ بِآيَاتِهِ ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُفْلِحُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ
10-Surah Yunus ( Jonah ) 50
Say, ‘ Have you considered: if His punishment should come to you by night or by day - for which [aspect] of it would the criminals be impatient?’
قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِنْ أَتَاكُمْ عَذَابُهُ بَيَاتًا أَوْ نَهَارًا مَّاذَا يَسْتَعْجِلُ مِنْهُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ
10-Surah Yunus ( Jonah ) 75
Then We sent after them Moses and Aaron to Pharaoh and his establishment with Our signs, but they behaved arrogantly and were a criminal people
ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَىٰ وَهَارُونَ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ بِآيَاتِنَا فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا وَكَانُوا قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ
10-Surah Yunus ( Jonah ) 82
And Allah will establish the truth by His words, even if the criminals dislike it.’
وَيُحِقُّ اللَّهُ الْحَقَّ بِكَلِمَاتِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُجْرِمُونَ
11-Surah Hud 35
Or do they say [about Prophet Muhammad], ‘ He invented it’ ? Say, ‘ If I have invented it, then upon me is [the consequence of] my crime; but I am innocent of what [crimes] you commit.’
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ ۖ قُلْ إِنِ افْتَرَيْتُهُ فَعَلَيَّ إِجْرَامِي وَأَنَا بَرِيءٌ مِّمَّا تُجْرِمُونَ
11-Surah Hud 52
And O my people, ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him. He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in showers and increase you in strength [added] to your strength. And do not turn away, [being] criminals.’
وَيَا قَوْمِ اسْتَغْفِرُوا رَبَّكُمْ ثُمَّ تُوبُوا إِلَيْهِ يُرْسِلِ السَّمَاءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا وَيَزِدْكُمْ قُوَّةً إِلَىٰ قُوَّتِكُمْ وَلَا تَتَوَلَّوْا مُجْرِمِينَ
11-Surah Hud 116
So why were there not among the generations before you those of enduring discrimination forbidding corruption on earth - except a few of those We saved from among them? But those who wronged pursued what luxury they were given therein, and they were criminals.
فَلَوْلَا كَانَ مِنَ الْقُرُونِ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ أُولُو بَقِيَّةٍ يَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْفَسَادِ فِي الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّمَّنْ أَنجَيْنَا مِنْهُمْ ۗ وَاتَّبَعَ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا مَا أُتْرِفُوا فِيهِ وَكَانُوا مُجْرِمِينَ
12-Surah Yusuf (Joseph ) 110
[They continued] until, when the messengers despaired and were certain that they had been denied, there came to them Our victory, and whoever We willed was saved. And Our punishment cannot be repelled from the people who are criminals.
حَتَّىٰ إِذَا اسْتَيْأَسَ الرُّسُلُ وَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُمْ قَدْ كُذِبُوا جَاءَهُمْ نَصْرُنَا فَنُجِّيَ مَن نَّشَاءُ ۖ وَلَا يُرَدُّ بَأْسُنَا عَنِ الْقَوْمِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
15-Surah Al-Hijr ( The Rocky Tract ) 11-13
And no messenger would come to them except that they ridiculed him.
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
Thus do We insert denial into the hearts of the criminals.
كَذَٰلِكَ نَسْلُكُهُ فِي قُلُوبِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
They will not believe in it, while there has already occurred the precedent of the former peoples.
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِ ۖ وَقَدْ خَلَتْ سُنَّةُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
15-Surah Al-Hijr ( The Rocky Tract ) 57-60
[Abraham] said, ‘ Then what is your business [here], O messengers?’
قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ
They said, ‘ Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals,
قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
Except the family of Lot; indeed, we will save them all
إِلَّا آلَ لُوطٍ إِنَّا لَمُنَجُّوهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
Except his wife.’ Allah decreed that she is of those who remain behind.
إِلَّا امْرَأَتَهُ قَدَّرْنَا ۙ إِنَّهَا لَمِنَ الْغَابِرِينَ
6-Surah Al-An’am ( The Cattle ) 55
And thus do We detail the verses, and [thus] the way of the criminals will become evident.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ وَلِتَسْتَبِينَ سَبِيلُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
6-Surah Al-An’am ( The Cattle ) 123-124
And thus We have placed within every city the greatest of its criminals to conspire therein. But they conspire not except against themselves, and they perceive [it] not.
وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا فِي كُلِّ قَرْيَةٍ أَكَابِرَ مُجْرِمِيهَا لِيَمْكُرُوا فِيهَا ۖ وَمَا يَمْكُرُونَ إِلَّا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ
And when a sign comes to them, they say, ‘ Never will we believe until we are given like that which was given to the messengers of Allah.’ Allah is most knowing of where He places His message. There will afflict those who committed crimes debasement before Allah and severe punishment for what they used to conspire.
وَإِذَا جَاءَتْهُمْ آيَةٌ قَالُوا لَن نُّؤْمِنَ حَتَّىٰ نُؤْتَىٰ مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ رُسُلُ اللَّهِ ۘ اللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ حَيْثُ يَجْعَلُ رِسَالَتَهُ ۗ سَيُصِيبُ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا صَغَارٌ عِندَ اللَّهِ وَعَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ بِمَا كَانُوا يَمْكُرُونَ
6-Surah Al-An’am ( The Cattle ) 147
So if they deny you, [O Muhammad], say, ‘ Your Lord is the possessor of vast mercy; but His punishment cannot be repelled from the people who are criminals.’
فَإِن كَذَّبُوكَ فَقُل رَّبُّكُمْ ذُو رَحْمَةٍ وَاسِعَةٍ وَلَا يُرَدُّ بَأْسُهُ عَنِ الْقَوْمِ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
37-Surah As-Saaffat ( Those Ranges in Ranks ) 33-35
So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment.
فَإِنَّهُمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ فِي الْعَذَابِ مُشْتَرِكُونَ
Indeed they, when it was said to them, ‘ There is no deity but Allah,’ were arrogant
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ
34-Surah Saba ( Sheba ) 32
Those who were arrogant will say to those who were oppressed, ‘ Did we avert you from guidance after it had come to you? Rather, you were criminals.’
قَالَ الَّذِينَ اسْتَكْبَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ اسْتُضْعِفُوا أَنَحْنُ صَدَدْنَاكُمْ عَنِ الْهُدَىٰ بَعْدَ إِذْ جَاءَكُم ۖ بَلْ كُنتُم مُّجْرِمِينَ
43-Surah Az-Zukhruf ( The Gold Adornment ) 74-75
Indeed, the criminals will be in the punishment of Hell, abiding eternally.
إِنَّ الْمُجْرِمِينَ فِي عَذَابِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدُونَ
It will not be allowed to subside for them, and they, therein, are in despair.
لَا يُفَتَّرُ عَنْهُمْ وَهُمْ فِيهِ مُبْلِسُونَ
44-Surah Ad-Dukhan ( The Smoke ) 17-24
And We had already tried before them the people of Pharaoh, and there came to them a noble messenger,
۞ وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ وَجَاءَهُمْ رَسُولٌ كَرِيمٌ
[Saying], ‘ Render to me the servants of Allah. Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger,’
أَنْ أَدُّوا إِلَيَّ عِبَادَ اللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّي لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌ
And [saying], ‘ Be not haughty with Allah. Indeed, I have come to you with clear authority.
وَأَن لَّا تَعْلُوا عَلَى اللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّي آتِيكُم بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
And indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me.
وَإِنِّي عُذْتُ بِرَبِّي وَرَبِّكُمْ أَن تَرْجُمُونِ
And [finally] he called to his Lord that these were a criminal people.
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُ أَنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ قَوْمٌ مُّجْرِمُونَ
[Allah said], ‘ Then set out with My servants by night. Indeed, you are to be pursued.
فَأَسْرِ بِعِبَادِي لَيْلًا إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
And leave the sea in stillness. Indeed, they are an army to be drowned.’
وَاتْرُكِ الْبَحْرَ رَهْوًا ۖ إِنَّهُمْ جُندٌ مُّغْرَقُونَ
44-Surah Ad-Dukhan ( The Smoke ) 37
Are they better or the people of Tubba’ and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals.
أَهُمْ خَيْرٌ أَمْ قَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ وَالَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ ۚ أَهْلَكْنَاهُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مُجْرِمِينَ
45-Surah Al-Jathiya ( Crouching ) 31
But as for those who disbelieved, [it will be said], ‘ Were not Our verses recited to you, but you were arrogant and became a people of criminals?
وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَفَلَمْ تَكُنْ آيَاتِي تُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاسْتَكْبَرْتُمْ وَكُنتُمْ قَوْمًا مُّجْرِمِينَ
46-Surah Al-Ahqaf ( The Curved Sand-hills ) 24-26
And when they saw it as a cloud approaching their valleys, they said, ‘ This is a cloud bringing us rain!’ Rather, it is that for which you were impatient: a wind, within it a painful punishment,
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْهُ عَارِضًا مُّسْتَقْبِلَ أَوْدِيَتِهِمْ قَالُوا هَٰذَا عَارِضٌ مُّمْطِرُنَا ۚ بَلْ هُوَ مَا اسْتَعْجَلْتُم بِهِ ۖ رِيحٌ فِيهَا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ
Destroying everything by command of its Lord. And they became so that nothing was seen [of them] except their dwellings. Thus do We recompense the criminal people.
تُدَمِّرُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ بِأَمْرِ رَبِّهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا لَا يُرَىٰ إِلَّا مَسَاكِنُهُمْ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِي الْقَوْمَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ
And We had certainly established them in such as We have not established you, and We made for them hearing and vision and hearts. But their hearing and vision and hearts availed them not from anything [of the punishment] when they were [continually] rejecting the signs of Allah; and they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.
وَلَقَدْ مَكَّنَّاهُمْ فِيمَا إِن مَّكَّنَّاكُمْ فِيهِ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُمْ سَمْعًا وَأَبْصَارًا وَأَفْئِدَةً فَمَا أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَلَا أَبْصَارُهُمْ وَلَا أَفْئِدَتُهُم مِّن شَيْءٍ إِذْ كَانُوا يَجْحَدُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
51-Surah Adh-Dhariyat ( The Wind that Scatter ) 31-34
[Abraham] said, ‘ Then what is your business [here], O messengers?’
۞ قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ
They said, ‘ Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals
قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors.’
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ
18-Surah Al-Kahf ( The Cave ) 49
And the record [of deeds] will be placed [open], and you will see the criminals fearful of that within it, and they will say, ‘ Oh, woe to us! What is this book that leaves nothing small or great except that it has enumerated it?’ And they will find what they did present [before them]. And your Lord does injustice to no one.
وَوُضِعَ الْكِتَابُ فَتَرَى الْمُجْرِمِينَ مُشْفِقِينَ مِمَّا فِيهِ وَيَقُولُونَ يَا وَيْلَتَنَا مَالِ هَٰذَا الْكِتَابِ لَا يُغَادِرُ صَغِيرَةً وَلَا كَبِيرَةً إِلَّا أَحْصَاهَا ۚ وَوَجَدُوا مَا عَمِلُوا حَاضِرًا ۗ وَلَا يَظْلِمُ رَبُّكَ أَحَدًا
18-Surah Al-Kahf ( The Cave ) 52-53
And [warn of] the Day when He will say, ‘ Call ‘My partners’ whom you claimed,’ and they will invoke them, but they will not respond to them. And We will put between them [a valley of] destruction.
وَيَوْمَ يَقُولُ نَادُوا شُرَكَائِيَ الَّذِينَ زَعَمْتُمْ فَدَعَوْهُمْ فَلَمْ يَسْتَجِيبُوا لَهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَا بَيْنَهُم مَّوْبِقًا
And the criminals will see the Fire and will be certain that they are to fall therein. And they will not find from it a way elsewhere.
وَرَأَى الْمُجْرِمُونَ النَّارَ فَظَنُّوا أَنَّهُم مُّوَاقِعُوهَا وَلَمْ يَجِدُوا عَنْهَا مَصْرِفًا
14-Surah Ibrahim ( Abraham ) 49-50
And you will see the criminals that Day bound together in shackles,
وَتَرَى الْمُجْرِمِينَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مُّقَرَّنِينَ فِي الْأَصْفَادِ
Their garments of liquid pitch and their faces covered by the Fire.
سَرَابِيلُهُم مِّن قَطِرَانٍ وَتَغْشَىٰ وُجُوهَهُمُ النَّارُ
32-Surah As-Sajdah ( The Prostration ) 12
If you could but see when the criminals are hanging their heads before their Lord, [saying], ‘ Our Lord, we have seen and heard, so return us [to the world]; we will work righteousness. Indeed, we are [now] certain.’
وَلَوْ تَرَىٰ إِذِ الْمُجْرِمُونَ نَاكِسُو رُءُوسِهِمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ رَبَّنَا أَبْصَرْنَا وَسَمِعْنَا فَارْجِعْنَا نَعْمَلْ صَالِحًا إِنَّا مُوقِنُونَ
32-Surah As-Sajdah ( The Prostration ) 22
And who is more unjust than one who is reminded of the verses of his Lord; then he turns away from them? Indeed We, from the criminals, will take retribution.
وَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّن ذُكِّرَ بِآيَاتِ رَبِّهِ ثُمَّ أَعْرَضَ عَنْهَا ۚ إِنَّا مِنَ الْمُجْرِمِينَ مُنتَقِمُونَ
70-Surah Al-Ma’arij (The Ways of Ascent ) 11-15
They will be shown each other. The criminal will wish that he could be ransomed from the punishment of that Day by his children
يُبَصَّرُونَهُمْ ۚ يَوَدُّ الْمُجْرِمُ لَوْ يَفْتَدِي مِنْ عَذَابِ يَوْمِئِذٍ بِبَنِيهِ
And whoever is on earth entirely [so] then it could save him.
وَمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ يُنجِيهِ
30-Surah Ar-Room ( The Romans ) 12
And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will be in despair.
وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يُبْلِسُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ
30-Surah Ar-Room ( The Romans ) 47
And We have already sent messengers before you to their peoples, and they came to them with clear evidences; then We took retribution from those who committed crimes, and incumbent upon Us was support of the believers.
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ رُسُلًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِمْ فَجَاءُوهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَانتَقَمْنَا مِنَ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا ۖ وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَيْنَا نَصْرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
30-Surah Ar-Room ( The Romans ) 55
And the Day the Hour appears the criminals will swear they had remained but an hour. Thus they were deluded.
وَيَوْمَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ يُقْسِمُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ مَا لَبِثُوا غَيْرَ سَاعَةٍ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ كَانُوا يُؤْفَكُونَ
83-Surah Al-Mutaffifin (Those Who Deal in Fraud) 29-32
Indeed, those who committed crimes used to laugh at those who believed.
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُوا مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ
And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances.
وَإِذَا مَرُّوا بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ
And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting.
وَإِذَا انقَلَبُوا إِلَىٰ أَهْلِهِمُ انقَلَبُوا فَكِهِينَ
And when they saw them, they would say, ‘ Indeed, those are truly lost.’
وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَٰؤُلَاءِ لَضَالُّونَ
8-Surah Al-Anfal ( The Spoils of War ) 8
That He should establish the truth and abolish falsehood, even if the criminals disliked it.
لِيُحِقَّ الْحَقَّ وَيُبْطِلَ الْبَاطِلَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُجْرِمُونَ
55-Surah Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) 41-43
The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.
يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ
9-Surah At-Taubah ( The Repentance ) 65-66
And if you ask them, they will surely say, ‘ We were only conversing and playing.’ Say, ‘ Is it Allah and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking?’
وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُمْ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّمَا كُنَّا نَخُوضُ وَنَلْعَبُ ۚ قُلْ أَبِاللَّهِ وَآيَاتِهِ وَرَسُولِهِ كُنتُمْ تَسْتَهْزِئُونَ
Make no excuse; you have disbelieved after your belief. If We pardon one faction of you - We will punish another faction because they were criminals.
لَا تَعْتَذِرُوا قَدْ كَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ ۚ إِن نَّعْفُ عَن طَائِفَةٍ مِّنكُمْ نُعَذِّبْ طَائِفَةً بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا مُجْرِمِينَ
