Verses about Jinn

Verses from the Book of Allah on Jinn Arranged in the order of the descent of the fence and accompanied by a simple interpretation, as well as with the possibility of listening to it

    114-Surah An-Nas ( Mankind ) 1-6
            
    Say, ‘ I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind,
    قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ
            
    The Sovereign of mankind.
    مَلِكِ النَّاسِ
            
    The God of mankind,
    إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ
            
    From the evil of the retreating whisperer –
    مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ
            
    Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind –
    الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ
            
    From among the jinn and mankind.’
    مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ
    38-Surah Sad ( The Letter Sad ) 36-38
            
    So We subjected to him the wind blowing by his command, gently, wherever he directed,
    فَسَخَّرْنَا لَهُ الرِّيحَ تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ رُخَاءً حَيْثُ أَصَابَ
            
    And [also] the devils [of jinn] – every builder and diver
    وَالشَّيَاطِينَ كُلَّ بَنَّاءٍ وَغَوَّاصٍ
            
    And others bound together in shackles.
    وَآخَرِينَ مُقَرَّنِينَ فِي الْأَصْفَادِ
    7-Surah Al-A’raf (The Heights ) 38-39
            
    [Allah] will say, ‘ Enter among nations which had passed on before you of jinn and mankind into the Fire.’ Every time a nation enters, it will curse its sister until, when they have all overtaken one another therein, the last of them will say about the first of them ‘ Our Lord, these had misled us, so give them a double punishment of the Fire. He will say, ‘ For each is double, but you do not know.’
    قَالَ ادْخُلُوا فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُم مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ فِي النَّارِ ۖ كُلَّمَا دَخَلَتْ أُمَّةٌ لَّعَنَتْ أُخْتَهَا ۖ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا ادَّارَكُوا فِيهَا جَمِيعًا قَالَتْ أُخْرَاهُمْ لِأُولَاهُمْ رَبَّنَا هَٰؤُلَاءِ أَضَلُّونَا فَآتِهِمْ عَذَابًا ضِعْفًا مِّنَ النَّارِ ۖ قَالَ لِكُلٍّ ضِعْفٌ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تَعْلَمُونَ
            
    And the first of them will say to the last of them, ‘ Then you had not any favor over us, so taste the punishment for what you used to earn.’
    وَقَالَتْ أُولَاهُمْ لِأُخْرَاهُمْ فَمَا كَانَ لَكُمْ عَلَيْنَا مِن فَضْلٍ فَذُوقُوا الْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْسِبُونَ
    7-Surah Al-A’raf (The Heights ) 179
            
    And We have certainly created for Hell many of the jinn and mankind. They have hearts with which they do not understand, they have eyes with which they do not see, and they have ears with which they do not hear. Those are like livestock; rather, they are more astray. It is they who are the heedless.
    وَلَقَدْ ذَرَأْنَا لِجَهَنَّمَ كَثِيرًا مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ ۖ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ لَّا يَفْقَهُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ أَعْيُنٌ لَّا يُبْصِرُونَ بِهَا وَلَهُمْ آذَانٌ لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ كَالْأَنْعَامِ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْغَافِلُونَ
    72-Surah Al-Jinn ( The Jinn ) 1-19
            
    Say, [O Muhammad], ‘ It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, ‘Indeed, we have heard an amazing Qur’an.
    قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ اسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْآنًا عَجَبًا
            
    It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone.
    يَهْدِي إِلَى الرُّشْدِ فَآمَنَّا بِهِ ۖ وَلَن نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَا أَحَدًا
            
    And [it teaches] that exalted is the nobleness of our Lord; He has not taken a wife or a son
    وَأَنَّهُ تَعَالَىٰ جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا اتَّخَذَ صَاحِبَةً وَلَا وَلَدًا
            
    And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression.
    وَأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى اللَّهِ شَطَطًا
            
    And we had thought that mankind and the jinn would never speak about Allah a lie.
    وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّا أَن لَّن تَقُولَ الْإِنسُ وَالْجِنُّ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا
            
    And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden.
    وَأَنَّهُ كَانَ رِجَالٌ مِّنَ الْإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٍ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَهَقًا
            
    And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger].
    وَأَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوا كَمَا ظَنَنتُمْ أَن لَّن يَبْعَثَ اللَّهُ أَحَدًا
            
    And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames.
    وَأَنَّا لَمَسْنَا السَّمَاءَ فَوَجَدْنَاهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًا شَدِيدًا وَشُهُبًا
            
    And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him.
    وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَاعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ ۖ فَمَن يَسْتَمِعِ الْآنَ يَجِدْ لَهُ شِهَابًا رَّصَدًا
            
    And we do not know [therefore] whether evil is intended for those on earth or whether their Lord intends for them a right course.
    وَأَنَّا لَا نَدْرِي أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًا
            
    And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways.
    وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الصَّالِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ كُنَّا طَرَائِقَ قِدَدًا
            
    And we have become certain that we will never cause failure to Allah upon earth, nor can we escape Him by flight.
    وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّا أَن لَّن نُّعْجِزَ اللَّهَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَن نُّعْجِزَهُ هَرَبًا
            
    And when we heard the guidance, we believed in it. And whoever believes in his Lord will not fear deprivation or burden.
    وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعْنَا الْهُدَىٰ آمَنَّا بِهِ ۖ فَمَن يُؤْمِن بِرَبِّهِ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخْسًا وَلَا رَهَقًا
            
    And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim – those have sought out the right course.
    وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ ۖ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ تَحَرَّوْا رَشَدًا
            
    But as for the unjust, they will be, for Hell, firewood.’
    وَأَمَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًا
            
    And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision
    وَأَن لَّوِ اسْتَقَامُوا عَلَى الطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسْقَيْنَاهُم مَّاءً غَدَقًا
            
    So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment.
    لِّنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ ۚ وَمَن يُعْرِضْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابًا صَعَدًا
            
    And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone.
    وَأَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدًا
            
    And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass.’
    وَأَنَّهُ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا
    26-Surah Ash-Shuara ( The Poets ) 210-212
            
    And the devils have not brought the revelation down.
    وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ الشَّيَاطِينُ
            
    It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able.
    وَمَا يَنبَغِي لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
            
    Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed.
    إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ السَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ
    27-Surah An-Naml (The Ants ) 10
            
    And [he was told], ‘ Throw down your staff.’ But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], ‘ O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.
    وَأَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۚ فَلَمَّا رَآهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَانٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ ۚ يَا مُوسَىٰ لَا تَخَفْ إِنِّي لَا يَخَافُ لَدَيَّ الْمُرْسَلُونَ
    27-Surah An-Naml (The Ants ) 17
            
    And gathered for Solomon were his soldiers of the jinn and men and birds, and they were [marching] in rows.
    وَحُشِرَ لِسُلَيْمَانَ جُنُودُهُ مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ وَالطَّيْرِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ
    27-Surah An-Naml (The Ants ) 38-39
            
    [Solomon] said, ‘ O assembly [of jinn], which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?’
    قَالَ يَا أَيُّهَا الْمَلَأُ أَيُّكُمْ يَأْتِينِي بِعَرْشِهَا قَبْلَ أَن يَأْتُونِي مُسْلِمِينَ
            
    A powerful one from among the jinn said, ‘ I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy.’
    قَالَ عِفْرِيتٌ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ أَنَا آتِيكَ بِهِ قَبْلَ أَن تَقُومَ مِن مَّقَامِكَ ۖ وَإِنِّي عَلَيْهِ لَقَوِيٌّ أَمِينٌ
    28-Surah Al-Qasas ( The Stories ) 31
            
    And [he was told], ‘ Throw down your staff.’ But when he saw it writhing as if it was a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], ‘ O Moses, approach and fear not. Indeed, you are of the secure.
    وَأَنْ أَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۖ فَلَمَّا رَآهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَانٌّ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ ۚ يَا مُوسَىٰ أَقْبِلْ وَلَا تَخَفْ ۖ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الْآمِنِينَ
    17-Surah Al-Isra ( The Night Journey ) 88
            
    Say, ‘ If mankind and the jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Qur’an, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other assistants.’
    قُل لَّئِنِ اجْتَمَعَتِ الْإِنسُ وَالْجِنُّ عَلَىٰ أَن يَأْتُوا بِمِثْلِ هَٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ لَا يَأْتُونَ بِمِثْلِهِ وَلَوْ كَانَ بَعْضُهُمْ لِبَعْضٍ ظَهِيرًا
    11-Surah Hud 119
            
    Except whom your Lord has given mercy, and for that He created them. But the word of your Lord is to be fulfilled that, ‘ I will surely fill Hell with jinn and men all together.’
    إِلَّا مَن رَّحِمَ رَبُّكَ ۚ وَلِذَٰلِكَ خَلَقَهُمْ ۗ وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَةُ رَبِّكَ لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
    15-Surah Al-Hijr ( The Rocky Tract ) 27
            
    And the jinn We created before from scorching fire.
    وَالْجَانَّ خَلَقْنَاهُ مِن قَبْلُ مِن نَّارِ السَّمُومِ
    6-Surah Al-An’am ( The Cattle ) 100
            
    But they have attributed to Allah partners – the jinn, while He has created them – and have fabricated for Him sons and daughters. Exalted is He and high above what they describe
    وَجَعَلُوا لِلَّهِ شُرَكَاءَ الْجِنَّ وَخَلَقَهُمْ ۖ وَخَرَقُوا لَهُ بَنِينَ وَبَنَاتٍ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ ۚ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
    6-Surah Al-An’am ( The Cattle ) 112
            
    And thus We have made for every prophet an enemy – devils from mankind and jinn, inspiring to one another decorative speech in delusion. But if your Lord had willed, they would not have done it, so leave them and that which they invent.
    وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ عَدُوًّا شَيَاطِينَ الْإِنسِ وَالْجِنِّ يُوحِي بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ زُخْرُفَ الْقَوْلِ غُرُورًا ۚ وَلَوْ شَاءَ رَبُّكَ مَا فَعَلُوهُ ۖ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ
    6-Surah Al-An’am ( The Cattle ) 128-130
            
    And [mention, O Muhammad], the Day when He will gather them together [and say], ‘ O company of jinn, you have [misled] many of mankind.’ And their allies among mankind will say, ‘ Our Lord, some of us made use of others, and we have [now] reached our term, which you appointed for us.’ He will say, ‘ The Fire is your residence, wherein you will abide eternally, except for what Allah wills. Indeed, your Lord is Wise and Knowing.’
    وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ قَدِ اسْتَكْثَرْتُم مِّنَ الْإِنسِ ۖ وَقَالَ أَوْلِيَاؤُهُم مِّنَ الْإِنسِ رَبَّنَا اسْتَمْتَعَ بَعْضُنَا بِبَعْضٍ وَبَلَغْنَا أَجَلَنَا الَّذِي أَجَّلْتَ لَنَا ۚ قَالَ النَّارُ مَثْوَاكُمْ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ حَكِيمٌ عَلِيمٌ
            
    And thus will We make some of the wrongdoers allies of others for what they used to earn.
    وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُوَلِّي بَعْضَ الظَّالِمِينَ بَعْضًا بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
            
    O company of jinn and mankind, did there not come to you messengers from among you, relating to you My verses and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?’ They will say, ‘ We bear witness against ourselves’ ; and the worldly life had deluded them, and they will bear witness against themselves that they were disbelievers.
    يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ أَلَمْ يَأْتِكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّنكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتِي وَيُنذِرُونَكُمْ لِقَاءَ يَوْمِكُمْ هَٰذَا ۚ قَالُوا شَهِدْنَا عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِنَا ۖ وَغَرَّتْهُمُ الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا وَشَهِدُوا عَلَىٰ أَنفُسِهِمْ أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا كَافِرِينَ
    37-Surah As-Saaffat ( Those Ranges in Ranks ) 158
            
    And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment].
    وَجَعَلُوا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْجِنَّةِ نَسَبًا ۚ وَلَقَدْ عَلِمَتِ الْجِنَّةُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمُحْضَرُونَ
    34-Surah Saba ( Sheba ) 12-14
            
    And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind – its morning [journey was that of] a month – and its afternoon [journey was that of] a month, and We made flow for him a spring of [liquid] copper. And among the jinn were those who worked for him by the permission of his Lord. And whoever deviated among them from Our command – We will make him taste of the punishment of the Blaze.
    وَلِسُلَيْمَانَ الرِّيحَ غُدُوُّهَا شَهْرٌ وَرَوَاحُهَا شَهْرٌ ۖ وَأَسَلْنَا لَهُ عَيْنَ الْقِطْرِ ۖ وَمِنَ الْجِنِّ مَن يَعْمَلُ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِ ۖ وَمَن يَزِغْ مِنْهُمْ عَنْ أَمْرِنَا نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ
            
    They made for him what he willed of elevated chambers, statues, bowls like reservoirs, and stationary kettles. [We said], ‘ Work, O family of David, in gratitude.’ And few of My servants are grateful.
    يَعْمَلُونَ لَهُ مَا يَشَاءُ مِن مَّحَارِيبَ وَتَمَاثِيلَ وَجِفَانٍ كَالْجَوَابِ وَقُدُورٍ رَّاسِيَاتٍ ۚ اعْمَلُوا آلَ دَاوُودَ شُكْرًا ۚ وَقَلِيلٌ مِّنْ عِبَادِيَ الشَّكُورُ
            
    And when We decreed for Solomon death, nothing indicated to the jinn his death except a creature of the earth eating his staff. But when he fell, it became clear to the jinn that if they had known the unseen, they would not have remained in humiliating punishment.
    فَلَمَّا قَضَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْمَوْتَ مَا دَلَّهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَوْتِهِ إِلَّا دَابَّةُ الْأَرْضِ تَأْكُلُ مِنسَأَتَهُ ۖ فَلَمَّا خَرَّ تَبَيَّنَتِ الْجِنُّ أَن لَّوْ كَانُوا يَعْلَمُونَ الْغَيْبَ مَا لَبِثُوا فِي الْعَذَابِ الْمُهِينِ
    34-Surah Saba ( Sheba ) 40-41
            
    And [mention] the Day when He will gather them all and then say to the angels, ‘ Did these [people] used to worship you?’
    وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ جَمِيعًا ثُمَّ يَقُولُ لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ أَهَٰؤُلَاءِ إِيَّاكُمْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ
            
    They will say, ‘ Exalted are You! You, [O Allah], are our benefactor not them. Rather, they used to worship the jinn; most of them were believers in them.’
    قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ أَنتَ وَلِيُّنَا مِن دُونِهِم ۖ بَلْ كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ الْجِنَّ ۖ أَكْثَرُهُم بِهِم مُّؤْمِنُونَ
    41-Surah Fussilat ( Explained in Detail ) 25
            
    And We appointed for them companions who made attractive to them what was before them and what was behind them [of sin], and the word has come into effect upon them among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.
    ۞ وَقَيَّضْنَا لَهُمْ قُرَنَاءَ فَزَيَّنُوا لَهُم مَّا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَحَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا خَاسِرِينَ
    41-Surah Fussilat ( Explained in Detail ) 29
            
    And those who disbelieved will [then] say, ‘ Our Lord, show us those who misled us of the jinn and men [so] we may put them under our feet that they will be among the lowest.’
    وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا رَبَّنَا أَرِنَا اللَّذَيْنِ أَضَلَّانَا مِنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ نَجْعَلْهُمَا تَحْتَ أَقْدَامِنَا لِيَكُونَا مِنَ الْأَسْفَلِينَ
    46-Surah Al-Ahqaf ( The Curved Sand-hills ) 18-19
            
    Those are the ones upon whom the word has come into effect, [who will be] among nations which had passed on before them of jinn and men. Indeed, they [all] were losers.
    أُولَٰئِكَ الَّذِينَ حَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ الْقَوْلُ فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا خَاسِرِينَ
            
    And for all there are degrees [of reward and punishment] for what they have done, and [it is] so that He may fully compensate them for their deeds, and they will not be wronged.
    وَلِكُلٍّ دَرَجَاتٌ مِّمَّا عَمِلُوا ۖ وَلِيُوَفِّيَهُمْ أَعْمَالَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ
    46-Surah Al-Ahqaf ( The Curved Sand-hills ) 29-32
            
    And [mention, O Muhammad], when We directed to you a few of the jinn, listening to the Qur’an. And when they attended it, they said, ‘ Listen quietly.’ And when it was concluded, they went back to their people as warners.
    وَإِذْ صَرَفْنَا إِلَيْكَ نَفَرًا مِّنَ الْجِنِّ يَسْتَمِعُونَ الْقُرْآنَ فَلَمَّا حَضَرُوهُ قَالُوا أَنصِتُوا ۖ فَلَمَّا قُضِيَ وَلَّوْا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِم مُّنذِرِينَ
            
    They said, ‘ O our people, indeed we have heard a [recited] Book revealed after Moses confirming what was before it which guides to the truth and to a straight path.
    قَالُوا يَا قَوْمَنَا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا كِتَابًا أُنزِلَ مِن بَعْدِ مُوسَىٰ مُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ يَهْدِي إِلَى الْحَقِّ وَإِلَىٰ طَرِيقٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ
            
    O our people, respond to the Messenger of Allah and believe in him; Allah will forgive for you your sins and protect you from a painful punishment.
    يَا قَوْمَنَا أَجِيبُوا دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ وَآمِنُوا بِهِ يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُجِرْكُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
            
    But he who does not respond to the Caller of Allah will not cause failure [to Him] upon earth, and he will not have besides Him any protectors. Those are in manifest error.’
    وَمَن لَّا يُجِبْ دَاعِيَ اللَّهِ فَلَيْسَ بِمُعْجِزٍ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَيْسَ لَهُ مِن دُونِهِ أَوْلِيَاءُ ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ
    51-Surah Adh-Dhariyat ( The Wind that Scatter ) 56-57
            
    And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.
    وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
            
    I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.
    مَا أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍ وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ
    18-Surah Al-Kahf ( The Cave ) 50
            
    And [mention] when We said to the angels, ‘ Prostrate to Adam,’ and they prostrated, except for Iblees. He was of the jinn and departed from the command of his Lord. Then will you take him and his descendants as allies other than Me while they are enemies to you? Wretched it is for the wrongdoers as an exchange.
    وَإِذْ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَائِكَةِ اسْجُدُوا لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُوا إِلَّا إِبْلِيسَ كَانَ مِنَ الْجِنِّ فَفَسَقَ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِ ۗ أَفَتَتَّخِذُونَهُ وَذُرِّيَّتَهُ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِي وَهُمْ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ ۚ بِئْسَ لِلظَّالِمِينَ بَدَلًا
    21-Surah Al-Anbiya ( The Prophets ) 81-82
            
    And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind, blowing forcefully, proceeding by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And We are ever, of all things, Knowing.
    وَلِسُلَيْمَانَ الرِّيحَ عَاصِفَةً تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ الَّتِي بَارَكْنَا فِيهَا ۚ وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَالِمِينَ
            
    And of the devils were those who dived for him and did work other than that. And We were of them a guardian.
    وَمِنَ الشَّيَاطِينِ مَن يَغُوصُونَ لَهُ وَيَعْمَلُونَ عَمَلًا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ ۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمْ حَافِظِينَ
    32-Surah As-Sajdah ( The Prostration ) 13
            
    And if We had willed, We could have given every soul its guidance, but the word from Me will come into effect [that] ‘ I will surely fill Hell with jinn and people all together.
    وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَآتَيْنَا كُلَّ نَفْسٍ هُدَاهَا وَلَٰكِنْ حَقَّ الْقَوْلُ مِنِّي لَأَمْلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
    55-Surah Ar-Rahman ( The Most Graciouse ) 1-78
            
    The Most Merciful
    الرَّحْمَٰنُ
            
    Taught the Qur’an,
    عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ
            
    Created man,
    خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ
            
    [And] taught him eloquence.
    عَلَّمَهُ الْبَيَانَ
            
    The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation,
    الشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍ
            
    And the stars and trees prostrate.
    وَالنَّجْمُ وَالشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ
            
    And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance
    وَالسَّمَاءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ الْمِيزَانَ
            
    That you not transgress within the balance.
    أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا فِي الْمِيزَانِ
            
    And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance.
    وَأَقِيمُوا الْوَزْنَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا الْمِيزَانَ
            
    And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.
    وَالْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ
            
    Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]
    فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَالنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ الْأَكْمَامِ
            
    And grain having husks and scented plants.
    وَالْحَبُّ ذُو الْعَصْفِ وَالرَّيْحَانُ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    He created man from clay like [that of] pottery.
    خَلَقَ الْإِنسَانَ مِن صَلْصَالٍ كَالْفَخَّارِ
            
    And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.
    وَخَلَقَ الْجَانَّ مِن مَّارِجٍ مِّن نَّارٍ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    [He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets.
    رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ الْمَغْرِبَيْنِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    He released the two seas, meeting [side by side];
    مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ
            
    Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses.
    بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    From both of them emerge pearl and coral.
    يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا اللُّؤْلُؤُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains.
    وَلَهُ الْجَوَارِ الْمُنشَآتُ فِي الْبَحْرِ كَالْأَعْلَامِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    Everyone upon the earth will perish,
    كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍ
            
    And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
    وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    Whoever is within the heavens and earth asks Him; every day He is bringing about a matter.
    يَسْأَلُهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأْنٍ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    We will attend to you, O prominent beings.
    سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ الثَّقَلَانِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allah].
    يَا مَعْشَرَ الْجِنِّ وَالْإِنسِ إِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا مِنْ أَقْطَارِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ فَانفُذُوا ۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَانٍ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not defend yourselves.
    يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌ مِّن نَّارٍ وَنُحَاسٌ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil –
    فَإِذَا انشَقَّتِ السَّمَاءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةً كَالدِّهَانِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn.
    فَيَوْمَئِذٍ لَّا يُسْأَلُ عَن ذَنبِهِ إِنسٌ وَلَا جَانٌّ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.
    يُعْرَفُ الْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَاهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِالنَّوَاصِي وَالْأَقْدَامِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    This is Hell, which the criminals deny.
    هَٰذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ
            
    They will go around between it and scalding water, heated [to the utmost degree].
    يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ آنٍ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens –
    وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِ جَنَّتَانِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    Having [spreading] branches.
    ذَوَاتَا أَفْنَانٍ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    In both of them are two springs, flowing.
    فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds.
    فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَاكِهَةٍ زَوْجَانِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    [They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low.
    مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍ بَطَائِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍ ۚ وَجَنَى الْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinni –
    فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    As if they were rubies and coral.
    كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    Is the reward for good [anything] but good?
    هَلْ جَزَاءُ الْإِحْسَانِ إِلَّا الْإِحْسَانُ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens –
    وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    Dark green [in color].
    مُدْهَامَّتَانِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    In both of them are two springs, spouting.
    فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.
    فِيهِمَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَنَخْلٌ وَرُمَّانٌ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    In them are good and beautiful women –
    فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    Fair ones reserved in pavilions –
    حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    Untouched before them by man or jinni –
    لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    Reclining on green cushions and beautiful fine carpets.
    مُتَّكِئِينَ عَلَىٰ رَفْرَفٍ خُضْرٍ وَعَبْقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٍ
            
    So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
    فَبِأَيِّ آلَاءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
            
    Blessed is the name of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
    تَبَارَكَ اسْمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
